I had the exactly same experience. After repeated emails to Head Service - Barclays, and lodging complaint with Banking Ombudsman, I am now told that my membership has been cancelled, and refund will be made in next statement.

They play one more prank.... they will de-activate your VC, and when you call for re-activation, they will virtually force you to upgrade to higher packages. Shameless, useless company... Dish TV.
