Guwahati: The situation in Assam is Worser than covid 19 pandemic. According to Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) around 33 lakh people are affected from 28 district in Assam as on date. Only in Barpeta district 5.5 lakh people are affected and lost their homes. The situation is more dangerous in Upper Assam. Specially in Dhemaji and Lakhimpur districts.

The death toll increased to 59, 9 more people lost their lives in 24 hours.

The Kaziranga National park also affected badly. Many animals lost their lives in this flood and rest of them coming out to the National Highway. Which makes a panic situation for the travelers to drive the vehicles through NH37. The DC of the Nagon district urged to the people not choose NH37 to go Upper Assam and choose other routes which will be helpfull for both the ends.

According to the weather bureau prediction the situation could be more dangerous in last 72 hours due to heavy rain fall in other parts of the North East. Hence Assam Govt. requests to people not panic and travel to the safest places if possible.
