This day 14th April has a very special meaning for me.

Today is bengali new year. While growing up back then, I was not happy about the idea that our New Year was not 1st Jan. I bieng a convent girl felt it was not cool.

My Ma wanted me to learn bengali culture......tradition. A few things she insisted.

......touch elders feet and take thier blessings

.......going to Kali Badi

.......helping her to make bengali sweets(this part I liked)

Today I dedicate this to my mother because I know she is there somewhere looking down at us from from up there!

Now I too am following Poila Boishaakh with my family
