A few years back I came to know of aproblem first hand(means that I experienced it ).

Before this ,the problem was just a story that can be read or heard and so on....

I faced a maid crisis ,so I was desperate to hire anybody.Instructions were given to the watchman ...if anybody approaches he should bring that person to me..All said and done..a few days went by but no news....

Suddenly one fine day the watchman sends a maid.....my neighbour sends another person....I am asked by a few women(many)..they need work as housemaids....

I was surprised...from no maid to so many of them (there must be some reason!)I hired one of them who was elderly..I felt pity.

She was very hard working,would always smile and she liked to talk(both of us spoke the same language).One day I asked her how she came here...suddenly she clams up....changes topic...and leaves as soon her work is over.

To cut the long story short....I came to know this......they had no job,eight small kids,not enough money to fall back on....and they heard stories of good money in this country.

So bribing was done(too risky to go in details),a group of many were prepared,and then passed on through the at night.

One fine day she vanishes....I try to find her but got to know that the husband is in jail.

My maid reappears crying and asking me to help.She wanted an advance....

I did whatever I could.but it was not enough.Her situation was very sad.

Two years have passed by no sign of her or even those who came with her.Some of them have changed their nationality and they deny being any place else but here.Everything has become a big puzzle with no solution.

Last week I saw my maid but she could not recognise me!Now I ask myself did all this happen or was I dreaming?People have an attitude..they think .this problem is not true ...as it didn't happen to them!!

I hope by writing this I am not in trouble.
