The hospital says: “It is true that 12 doctors have left the organization as per their own Career plans and the same positions were replaced by equally competent doctors. This happens in every organization and it is not a strange thing”. That’s a blatant lie. I can name at least 50 consultant doctors who have left in the space of less than 2 years. And they say “it is not a strange thing”! If that’s not strange, what is?! Many of these doctors are world renowned and it won’t be possible to replace them. 8. Many consultants have not been paid their dues on leaving. The hospital says: “We have paid to all the consultants as per the contract agreement whether they have earned their salaries or not”. That again is a cheap lie. I can name a few doctors who were not paid their dues and who were even humiliated in the process. These doctors did not take the matter to court because of the expense involved in lenghthy legal matters. 9. At least 3-4 CEO’s and several top managerial staff have left in the course of 2 years. The hospital justifies this by saying: “No organization will keep non performing senior managers, this is a universal practice”.If that is a universal practise, why have the Chaiman (and his cronies) not mentioned even one organisation which has sacked so many people in such a short time? Probably there arent any! 10. In the Emergency Department many patients have been asked to do a battery of tests even before a proper medical history has been taken. This usually costs a great deal of money. In fact the Emergency Dept. Consultant has even bragged about the large amount of money being generated from that Department. The hospital management had been quite happy with this consultant. The reason for this is not clear but one can draw their own conclusion. 11. There have been newspaper reports of some dubious characters being associated with the hospital. As written in Mumbai Mirror (27/7/2010): “ Pune-based builder Avinash Bhosale, in trouble over his controversial land deal in Navi Mumbai, seems headed into a fresh row. --- it has emerged that he owns a stake in Andheri’s ultra-luxury Seven Hills Hospital, which is under attack for violating its terms of agreement with the BMC. When Mumbai Mirror contacted Bhosale, he admitted to his association with Seven Hills Hospital, ---. BMC’s standing committee chairman Rahul Shewale, however, said that -- Bhosale is still associated with Seven Hills. -- “We will not let BMC be taken for a ride like CIDCO has been,” Shewale said. 12. One may wonder at my intensions. The Adarsh HSC scam and the exploitation of Powai land by the Hiranandani’s did not happen overnight. I have seen the extreme need for affordable medical care for the poor in this part of town. To prevent similar scams from occuring, it is imperative that citizens be vigilant. It is in view of this that many organisations, including the BMC, the judiciary, the police, the media and several other non-governmental organisations have been kept in the loop. After my first comment in Mouth Shut, the General Manager of the hospital came to my house with another hospital cronie at 10.00 am without prior intimation. At 10.00 am, most doctors would have gone for work. So had I. The GM evidently wanted to talk to my wife, telling me to refrain from making adverse comments on Mouth Shut and other public fora. He said otherwise the hospital would have to take action. Fortunately, my elderly father was there at the time and he told the GM that I felt aggrieved by the hospital’s action and everyone had the right to express his/her opinion as long it was true and there was nothing objectionable. My father asked the GM to show him copies of my articles. The GM left but did not return. Guess he realised there was nothing objectionable I had written and even if I had done so, every word could be corraborated. A senior police officer told me it would be difficult for me to get truth to prevail. But he also told me there is a way. I’m trying from my side. The judiciary is defenitly keeping a close watch. So are several NGO’s. I do not think of myself as a Messiah but a simple worker of The Lord. He is the Master-Craftsman, I am just a worker. He sees the Big Picture which I have no access to. But the Lord also said: " do not be afraid of people. Whatever is now covered up will be made known. What I am telling you in the dark you must repeat in the daylight, and what you have heard in private you must announce from the housetops. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather be afraid of God who can destroy both body and soul in hell.------- As for you, even the hairs of your head have all been counted. So do not be afraid----"
