Could anyone among the readers (or others) do something about the pop-up ads that automatically appear on home page? At the moment it is Smirnoff, earlier some water filter. MS should not unnecessarily make us view them unless we wish to click on them. This is unwanted and irritating advertising.

When I wish to view the stories, suddenly an ad pops up and remains there for sometime and then closes. In the first instance, why is it there? I will view it if I wish to. Why is it being imposed on readers unnecessarily? I don’t appreciate it at all.

I like the experience of reading and writing and therefore am on this site. But these ads are like encroaching on my privacy sans permission.

Ad guys, don't abuse readers' gullibility.

This should immediately stop.
