Out of the world experience....this quote I had heard but what it meant I had no clue. Now I had to face a real situation to understand the meaning of this quote....unreal feeling in a very real situation.
Situation..It is such that I had to go to a very famous hospital..TATA memorial hospital in Parel (sick relative..)MY GOD..from the time of the entry (very strict..)to the time we actually had to wait for our registration number.......was so stretched that collapsing was an option which I was thinking about seriously.
No seats that was empty,.so many sick people, fans not working and the irritated staff.
With every sick there was an attendent or relative who had to do the paper work or stand in a queue. The front desk had many attendents but still it was so over crowded by frustrated tired relatives that the hospital staff got an excuse to raise their voice......indifferent to the feelings of people at large.
warning...Anybody planning on falling sick (hospital people think ki woh log hum par ehsaan kar rahe hai...)do take down the facts that you have to face a lot of unsympathetic people along with sympathetic people too.
Hospital workers are doing their jobs for money not for charity...
So be prepared...take along food and water. Also a mat is equally important as there will be no seats available.Relatives should be prepared to stand and keep on standing...even if it takes 6 to 8 hours or more. The place may be full of people and the walking place may even be occupied. Still no one is allowed to stand on the walking space.....so what does he do?
Solution........keep moving from one corner to another corner... while keeping an eye on your patient and your number(registration)...being displayed on the display board.........
Tata Hospital has got such a good reputation that people from all over INDIA........suffering from cancer come here, with high hopes that this may be thier miracle way.
How many of such people do get well or how many get help from NGOs.........is something to ponder upon or people should know about this..these facts(asking anyone there is very difficult).
My experience is just beginning, only two days I had to spend from morning till evening running from ground floor to third floor or to another building, better half doing similar things. All over watching the misery of people's eyes.........cannot even describe the conditions of the patients, old and young alike all in thier own private hell(how can so many people be affected by this deadly disease!) made me realise what........out of the world experience means.........
God.......please take the misery away............
P.S: I would write about my experiences more as and when.......
