Personally i liked the movie. It is more on a wavering kid getting a purpose for his life and that too ends up saving many lives of his countrymen. I do appreciate you have a different liking, nevertheless good few thoughts that you shared.

Your observation is party correct that the concept of making a movie around a robot is old, Robot does not seem to be any closer to Bicentenial man.
