Luckily its reversible I called up the makemytrip customer support. Luckily they do put back the points to your payback account !! So no harm done except one needs to spend some time over the phone talking to customer support !! Cheers, Krishnaswamy Bijawara

Very true. Be careful with Airtel. We also faced this issue of closing airtel connection. Its like ghost which comes and haunts every now and then, though u have paid bill and used connection for long time. They just dont close the account. And also threaten with legal action !!
