1) Request No: 0001425724 - Closed without being addressed
Had raised a complaint that the internet was not working. Followed up next day at noon on status. In the afternoon I received an SMS that the complaint has been attended by the team. I immediately call up the help desk to enquire and they confirm that the request has been addressed. Despite me informing that the problem is not rectified and that nobody called or visited my place, the help desk agent did not register a complaint. I got the complaint re-opened by replying to the SMS as “N”.
After half an hour I receive a call from the field personnel saying that they have addressed the issue. I communicate that the internet is still not working. At about 4:00 pm I again call the helpdesk to check and also inform them that the cable is lying on the road and nobody has even come to rectify.
I find the internet cable is cut and still lying on the road - and the ACT personnel say that they have rectified the problem. Still waiting for someone to respond. posted on their Facebook page, but noticed that they screen messages.
2) 15Mbps speed - Truth or Cheating?
When the connection was installed, they tested the internet speed on speedtest.net and chose a server in India(e.g. Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai). Despite me having a connection of 15Mbps, the speedtest always showed 19Mbps. Am yet to figure out how I am getting a higher speed.
I then tested the speed choosing servers outside India(London, Tokyo, Dallas etc). The max speed registered was 5Mbps and average was around 2.5Mbps. I also tested the speed using other websites(do a google search "internet speed test" to find websites to test speed). I tried with more than 7 different sites. The results was again consistent - Max about 5Mbps and average about 2.5Mbps.
PS: Its been less than 3 weeks since I have taken the connection and the internet connection has broken down twice. The internet speed is also not consistent.
