I would like to give a short and a long review(bare with me).Short: Act is good in Chennai, so if you want an fast internet connection then get Act already.
Long:
I have been using internet connection for the past 7 years . I am not a light user I need internet 24*7, am a big movie freak so either I stream online or I download. I have used Bsnl for 5 years(Chennai). Reliance for 2 years(Bang). Recently I saw on of those hording for ACT Fiber net. Always had fascination for Speed so got attracted immediately.
Called Act customer care on 20th of Oct and registered for a call back. Promised to call back in the next 4-8 hrs but they did not, got irritated, if this is what is for a new connection then imagine complaint resolves.Got a call back on 22nd of Oct from a sales rep named Shamsudhin, formerly apologized for the delay, apparently Fibernet needs to have a protected server for every 300m radius. Anyways wanted to try so went with the new connection. he gat the cheque of Rs 1622 as I took 999 plan(20 mbps for 40 gb then 512 kbps) 500 for non refundable installation. Promised me to give a connection within 5 working days on 27th of Oct an engineer named Deepak gave a connection{a direct lan wire I use netgear n150 for wifii}. Very fast and very good service, the poor chap was in my house till 8.30 pm.
Once installation is done couldnt control my eager so rushed and opened OKLA Speed test, couldn’t believe my eyes 20 mbps download and 22 mbps upload. tried opening you tube videos played like a fiddle no stop in buffer what so ever, Opened couchtuner a heavy site for tv series in HD the video was perfect no hitches what so ever. Tried opening you tube in one mobile Kiss anime video in an other couchtuner video in laptop and watch tv series in Desktop all worked amazingly fast. Felt like achieved something.
So to conclude touch wood ACT is very very good in Chennai.
