Wastes Lots of water and High on maintenance

We always relied on Aquaguard from Eureka Forbes for clean water and low maintenance. When we moved to our new home, the water was not only salty but was also hard. Hence to cleanse as well as soften it RO is recommended as a natural choice. We called Eureka Forbes for a demo and they convinced us to write a cheque for Aquaguard Enhance RO soon after the product explanation(not demo). The commitments made during the sales are as below.

  • Low on Maintenance and hence AMC not mandatory

  • Clean water devoid of all harmful bacteria and chemicals retaining essential minerals

  • Noise free operation

  • Low electricity consumption

What we experienced with Aquaguard Enhance RO in the last two years is below.

  • High on maintenance and hence AMC is compulsory. Reason - price of the filters/cartridges is almost Rs. 4000 and has to be changed on a yearly basis. AMC is Rs. 3600 which covers the cartridge/filter changes.

  • Clean nicely tasting water without any bad odour

  • Noisy when the motor runs

  • Electricity consumption is nominal

  • One thing nobody told us which hit us very hard is the fact that it uses 24 liters of water to produce 8 liters of clean water. Yes, it will let out nearly 16 liters of waste water, which Eureka Forbes recommend not to use for any purpose, washing, cleaning or even gardening as it may have harmful chemicals. If you are in water scarce area, avoid it like plague.
