I recently purchased a EeePC 1000HA/XP from Lamington Road, Bombay, India. Prior to taking the buy decision, I visited several dealers and studied brochures for different netbooks. Printed brochures for Asus EeePC models were given to me by two different dealers. According to all the brochures, the 1000HA was supposed to have Bluetooth and 802.11b/g/N WLAN.
After doing a comparative study of several netbooks like Dell, Lenovo, Acer, Samsung, etc., I finally purchased the Asus 1000HA based mainly on its superior specifications. None of the other netbooks in the market were claiming the higher speed /N wi fi. However, when I took the EeePC home and started using it, I discovered that my EeePC 1000HA neither has Bluetooth nor WLAN with /N capability. This came as a rude shock to me as I had fully trusted the specifications given in the printed brochures supplied by Asus.
Obviously, Asus are printing false information in their product brochures to misguide customers. I feel very much cheated by Asus.If I had known that there is no bluetooth and /N WLAN capability in the Asus 1000HA, I would have gone for some other netbook (some were cheaper than Asus).
I am unable to understand why Asus is spoiling their image and brand equity by taking recourse to such cheap tricks. I will never trust Asus again and will go for more trustworthy brands in future.
I wrote to Asus service and brought this problem to their notice. They simply wrote back saying that the 1000HA does not have Bluetooth and does not support /N WLAN.
