I love month beginnings, for along with many other things, it brings along many of the monthly magazines. One magazine I’m crazy bout is the ’AUTOCAR India’ magazine.
I have been reading this AUTO Mag for over 24 months, and have enjoyed every issue immensely.
The Owner cum Editor of the mag, Mr. Hormazd Sorabjee, not only maintains the high standards set by previous issues, but continuously raises the bar as well.
The Magazine is divided into many parts...regular as well as special features.
It’s ’NEWS WHEEL’ Section features the latest snippets in the AUTO Industry.
This Mag is the first to Road Test a car which is prospectively going to be launched in India. As to my knowledge, no other AUTO Mag is so proactive.
It features all International Motor Shows, and reporting of such events, along with the photographs, is world class.
It has many Regulars, like queries addressed to it regarding AUTO probs, suggestions on buying a particular brand n model of a used car. It also features a regular called ’Me & My Car’, wherein it interviews known personalties about the car they own, and the ’relationship’ they share with it :)
It also has a fleet of cars under Long term testing, and keeps updating the readers as to the current situation, with regards to problems incurred, maintanence
hassles n such stuff.
It also has an entire section for MOTOR SPORT. It covers a vast number of motor races...from F1 to off road racing. The F1 coverage is awesome to say the least (Last month they put up an interview with Schumi!!)
The mag also features a ’BUYER’s GUIDE’ which lists the prices of various 2 & 4 Wheelers in major Indian cities, along with Technical specifications and Features found in particular models. This really helps when one is planning to buy a car.
The Special features in the mag are quite extra-ordinary. An article by Hormazd narrated his experiences in driving a F1 car...which other Indian mag gives this??
All in all, this Mag is the best AUTO Mag in the country. As it’s AUTOCAR India, it is quite biased to Cars, not concentrating that much on bikes. It does have a foreign-bike feature though.
