Bajaj makes it tough to enjoy Pulsar 200

An update to the experience dealing with the Bajaj Dealer in Gurgaon(Krishna Auto Sales) with regards to the Pulsar 200 my friend acquired.

The dealer no longer has the bike in stock. Looks like the demand is greater than the supplies. Very good for Bajaj.

The problem? The dealer does not even have the spare parts to fix the problems faced by the owners of the few bikes which have been sold in the market.

The bike has developed an issue with some component called cooler(or whatever). Bajaj guys admit it and say it needs to be replaced.

But since they do not have the required spare parts(since the last 20-25 days) they cannot fix it. They say they would have the spares required in the next 10-15 days.

The problem is that he said the same thing 15 days ago. And they still do not have the required spare parts. And he admits that he already has 4-5 more similar cases where the Pulsar 200 has developed leaking problems.

He recommends that we should get the part welded and he would replace the part when it arrives at the dealership.

When we asked him to give it in writing that he WOULD indeed replace the problematic part when a spare arrives at their workshop, he practically said:

I don’t have any issues in giving you in writing. But what if I refuse to do the needful in the future? What would you do? It does not make any difference at all.

The funny story is that another Bajaj workshop dude practically told my friend that he should NOT go in for the welding solution as it would surely void his warranty and no Bajaj dealer would touch the bike.

I have tried written to the company but have not received any response yet. I am giving it 10 more days. If the Krishna guys do not get the required spare parts… I would have no option but to go to the customer court.

Here is a suggestion to anyone who is considering buying the Pulsar 200.

Wait. Wait till your local dealership has spares in stock.

For us, it means that we have to wait for at least 2 weeks to take the bike on long trips.
