A). did not get the statement
b). called customer care & got the amount to pay - they asked if they need to send somebody for collecting.
c). the collection agent collected the chq. 20 days in advance (amount 28, 500 approx).
he was an illiterate and he issued a receipt also. Chq. was given for the amount mentioned in the statement he was carrying & for the date he asked for.
d). I was charged "Late payment charges" - when I protested they informed the last date was 22nd and the chq. was also for 22nd - it took them 4 days to clear the chq - so they charged Rs.1, 350 (approx).
e). Complained to the call center guys - no use - on 4 occasions (one occasion I was assured it will be reversed)
f). sent email - NO REPLY
Personal advise - KEEP AWAY FROM BARCLAY’s - they are new to India and we pay penalty for their lapses.
Even if I have paid on the last date - can they legally charge interest for the collection period ??
