I have been earning miles
on my Asia Miles(from Cathay Pacific airlines) account since two years and now
when it is time to redeem my miles before they expire I have begun to realize
what a farce this whole program is! The Asia miles toll free number in India
is never available and if you try on line you got to give them all your credit
card information even before you know whether you can book a flight or not! I
have been trying since four days now and every time I call them their voice
mail asks me to leave my contact information saying that I will be contacted
within 24 hrs. But they never got back to me! Now I know how good the customer
service of Chinese companies is! I am also a member of Miles and More from
Lufthansa and so far I have had pretty good experience when it comes to
redeeming my miles for award flights or gifts. So, if you are accumulating miles
on your Asia miles account, do not even dream about redeeming it in future.
Asia miles is just another pathetic mileage program. GEEYEM

*At last, after almost three weeks, I was able to claim my miles for a domestic travel ticket in India. I am sure this would not take so long in the US or any other western country. Since Indian customer is used to being neglected this is not a big surprise. Anyway, I hope there are no more bottle necks in my journey!
I hope someone from Cathay Pacific will see this review and start thinking about opening their office in India as their fleet is being introduced to more cities in India and there will be more people enrolling in their mileage program.
