Strange title maybe but hey it is early in the morning so bear with me.

There will always come a time to buy a baby gift, whether for a shower or after the baby arrives home. I would go for practical gifts that a new mother never has enough of or a one of a kind useful gift.

Let’s start with practical gifts. Babies go through tons of diapers so it is always a good gift to buy. It would be handy if you know whether they are going to use cloth or disposable the most but I think there are times both are used so I would go with a package of each.

Blankets are another thing that a baby goes through a lot no matter what season. When buying a blanket never buy one with fringe on as the baby could easily choke on that. Babies like anything that has a lot of color so keep that in mind.

Another choice would be bottles and or formula. Even if the mother is  feeding her own milk there are times she will need to use bottles.

Something musical and colorful to hang over the crib catches the babies eye and keeps them amused.

A new mom especially a first time mom listens for every little noise. They have these intercom systems with a box for the babies room and another for wherever you want it. This way the mom can do what she needs to do and still hear the baby from any room in the house.

Some other ideas that are always useful are bibs and nightgowns as a baby does tend to get messy and needs to be changed quite often.

If you happen to be the grandparents and the mom doesn’t have a washer and dryer this would be an ideal gift for the parents.

A nice token gift would be to get a basket and fill it and tie with a pretty ribbon. You can put in baby powder, lotion, soap, diaper rash cream, and so on.

Hope you found some of these ideas helpful to you.
