D COMPANY THE MOVIE
Those of you who have seen Satya and Company will be severely disappointed with this latest in the Gangster series of RGV movies.
This movie was released today in Pune, and I was quite surprised to see a few seats vacant in the theater. First day first show!
Loosely the movie is based on the rise of Dawood in the Mumbai underworld.
The movie starts in the usual way showcasing Deshu (Ranadeep Hooda) as a willing youngster wanting to join the underworld. He gets an entry into Karim Lala’s (Goga Kapoor) gang but has to prove his credentials by wiping a rival gang which he does in style.
He has Chunkey Pandey as an able lieutenant. Together they gradually become the brains and executers of the Karim Lala gang and rise fast and furious to the top. This is resented by the sons of Karim, Mukaram and Shabir.
Plenty of killings and counter killings, and at the end of a boring hour and a half Deshu kills all others and emerges as the Don of Dons.
Pathetic movie all along.
Satya was a path breaking movie and had a tremendous set of characters and star cast. Manoj Bajpai was terrific. Even the other minions, Police Officers, put up fabulous performances. Satya was a super hit and events there were close to reality of the underworld.
Company exceeded Satya in excellence. The star cast of Ajay Devgan as the Don and assisted by Vivek Oberio and others was way too chillling and sophisticated. Mohandas as the Poilice Commissioner was a treat to watch.
RGV has screwed up royally with the star cast and his director Vish Sawant has missed out on a great oppurtunity. I am sure Dawood will be disappointed. He deserved better.
Randeep Hooda is very average, Chunky Pandey well below average. So are the others. Not a single performance is worth writing about.
Mumbai underworld hindi is a treat to hear. In this movie dialouges make for e gutter rattling sounds at best, without a punch. Somewhere Ram Gopal lost it, completely and comprehensively.
Folks give ths movie a walk over.
At best at the box office RGV will be lucky if it is a ’’Commission earner.’’
If this review is insipid blame it on the movie and the RGV gang. RGV your time is up. Move over man. You had your good years.
