I am now in my early fifties but thanks to regular outdoors and sports, feel quite energetic and young.
My father was an Army man from the Gurkha Rifles and I am quite seeped in the fauji culture. I criss crossed the nation in my kid days. Joined the Indian Navy, through the NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY in 1969.
I served in the Indian Navy for 22 years, quit and joined the Merchant Navy. Presently I work for the Offshore Oil Industry (ONGC) and am a Captain (Master Mariner)on board Offshore Ships.
I was married in 1974 .
My wife enjoys playing Golf and has a few Championships under her belt, including the Kirlosker Salver championship i 2005. It helps when two tango together in ones marriage, especially on the Golf Course!
Nowadays I enjoy my Golf game and networking with my friends and fellow reviewers on Mouthshut. It is good fun!
. My interests are many. Travelling, photogrophy, outdoor sports. Have played most sports at competetive level during my school days (Tennis, Squash, Swimming, Sailing,) as well as at the National Defence Academy/Indian Navy and continue to play sports to this day. These days I stick to Golf. I do believe that sports should be an integral part of ones lifestyle.
The Navy taught me to SCUBA DIVE. I have dived in the coral reefs in Andamans/Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Maldives, Seychelles and was an avid underwater photographer till about 1985. I used to show my underwater slides at various seminars and was invited often to talk about my Adventures Under the Sea.
