I wanted to watch this movie because the other movies based on Marvel Comics characters were worth it namely X-Men and Spiderman (ok ok ..lets leave this one out).
Ben Affleck is Matt Murdock, a lawyer from Hells Kitchen who was blinded by radiation as a child, but in consequence gave him supersensitive hearing (and apparently increased his athletic and acrobatic stance). He uses these powers to fight crime at night, fighting specifically against the Kingpin, a mysterious crimelord who Murdock seeks for vengeance for the murder of his father. By day, Murdock makes acquaintance with Elektra Natchios (Jennifer Garner), a skilled martial artist with whom Murdock quickly grows fond of. Meanwhile Bullseye (Colin Farrell) is brought into the picture as a bad guy hired to kill Elektras father. (Acknowledgement: IMDb)
Some of the stunt scenes in the movie are worth watching. Though the plot cant explain how Murdock after losing his eyesight becomes capable of twisting, rolling and those superhuman somersaults in mid air. Basically this movie fails where X-Men was a success i.e. introducing the characters as well as fitting them in a plot to suit a 90 minute run. The movie appears to be moving at a jet speed most of the time...but leaves the audience behind..!!
Colin Farrell never ceases to amaze me...his undertone and facial expressions will get him to the tops someday. He is the only thing that made me sit for rest of the movie. Ben Affleck can do better or maybe the plot never gave him room enough to explore. Jennifer Garner is dull as Elektra...not her fault though...the cameraman doesnt seem to like her at all. Most of her shots seem to be bent upon capturing the back upholstery or the bulidings than herself.
All in all...watch it at home when you just want some brainless entertainment and you VCD Library doesnt have anything else except Daredevil and Charlies Angels: Full Throttle....;-)
