There is everything wrong about Dish TV. It must be understood that they are mostly the contents distributors.
Or a channel through which contents made by others is passed on to the viewers. So if you loved a Star Movie, do not praise Dish TV because you liked the movies direction. The worst thing about Dish TV is the support.
- First of all SUPPORT IS PAID.
Getting the free call number is as easy as winning a state government lottery. You will need to call their paid number and you will pay through your nose. My todays call about 5 to 7 minutes cost me Rs. 35/-. The support persons at call center use time wasting tricks and are expertly callous and abusive.
So do not expect a resolution of your problem. Be prepared to give your phone number, date of birth, full address, valid e-mail ID and last transaction details before your concerns could be heard. They will be nice as long as you do not put a question, the response will be so weird and so irresponsible that you will curse yourself for calling them in the first place.
2.To make recharge payment is complicated.One of the ways to pay is to use a card. One of the card is ITZ card. Such cards are available in denominations that are not in sync with the package plans.
For example if you want to recharge for a month and your package is Rs. 320. You will be forced to buy a Rs. 500 card. Now they credit the remaining value into your account but how they do it is dubious or complicated as you may interpret.
- Payment made, but not received.
I wanted to recharge for a month , about Rs. 350 but no Rs. 500 card was available. So I bought a 700 card (the only denomination available with their reseller). I called Dish TV number and recharged through their IVR. The response was " Your transaction has been successful"
But surprise surprise, after 2 days on 22nd May 2010 my connection was disabled. So I called Dish TV. On a paid line. Cost me Rs. 35 or so.The response was horrific.
Why did you use ITZ card?
Now this was a silly question. They themselves advertise ITZ card. That is why. Okay their is no payment received. Contact ITZ. Today being Sunday, ITZ phones are not picked. Tried sending sms to ITZ... doesnt work.
- No instant reactivation:
If for some reasons you are late in making payment, you may have to wait for anything like 2 hours to 7 days before your connection is restored. Do not even think about calling their helpline. You will be charged sorry robbed with Rs. 3 or 4 per minute. besides you will have to hear their advertisements before the executive takes the phone all billed to you.
NEVER EVER BUY A DISH TV CONNECTION. I am waiting for the first opportunity to shift to another channel.
