Do Knot Bother

David Dhawan and Govinda have had an excellent partnership for a long time, and I have enjoyed many of their earlier movies(knowing fully well that one should leave his brains behind when watching such movies).

I dutifully left brains back home to watch this one, but was very disappointed. The movie attempts to make you laugh but all its so-called funny lines fall flat.

The main problem is - with a DD-Govinda movie, you do not expect logic, but you do expect to laugh. In the movie hall, I hardly ever laughed, and we could hear one or two guys laughing once in a while, and towards the end, it was the laughter of a 6 year old which was the loudest. So the issue is - this movie is not funny.

The basic plot is - Govinda is married to super-rich Sushmita, but also has an affair with super-model Lara Dutta. Rich wife smells the affair and hires a detective(Ranvir Shourie), so husband hires a waiter(Riteish Deshmukh) to play the boyfriend to Lara to convince his wife. Husband is also worried of his girlfriend so gets his friend/subordinate Manoj Pahwa to keep an eye on Lara/Riteish. All of this does not complicate matters, but only serves to drive the viewer up the wall.

The plot is wafer-thin, all actors act as if they are acting in a college play, the script is extremely shoddy, music is ordinary, and the audience comes out of the theater wondering if the movie makers were seriously interested in making a comedy flick. It looks like the team was given some money and 2 weeks time to think of a script and come out with a movie. Two and a half hours of my life which will never come back.
