We made a mistake assuming aggregators like EZMove are better in terms of customer satisfaction, process orientation or due diligence vis-a-vis standalone movers and packers(for our Bangalore - Mumbai move). But beware! Their well spoken inside-sales teams will in all probability promise you the sun, moon and stars and you will be floored, because for a change they sound professional as opposed to standalone providers. In our case, unfortunately the professionalism ended there. EZMove is an aggregator, they don’t have their own setup and hence have to rely on an array of operators who might or might not make the cut, but over whom EZMove definitely doesn’t have much control.
The allocated vendor broke my 25 FOOT HOUSE WINDOW whilst emptying my Bangalore house and damaged my Sony LCD, Haier Fridge, Kent Water Purifier, Lamp Shade and some 10 odd glasses. Why? Because the team was not experienced enough and EZMove is never physically present anywhere, they merely coordinate on the phone. My repeated follow ups to get my 25 FOOT WINDOW fixed and cover for the LCD which was insured fell on deaf ears. Finally they came back saying that the LCD, despite insurance cover will not be covered as the damage was not overtly visible(an electronic board had failed, perhaps they didn’t transport it well and we had to fork out Rs.5, 000 change to get it fixed). So insurance went out of the window! Then after 1 month they came back and offered Rs.500 for breaking my 25 FOOT WINDOW which was insulting to say the least. We asked them to shove it! And went ahead and compensated our landlord for the window which was Rs.7, 500. In addition to the misery, these EZMove jokers damaged our refrigerator fan as well, which had to be replaced costing another Rs.1, 300.
So if you ask us, don’t compromise safety and customer service to save a few bucks with EZMove. Rely on established original players like Agarwal, Leo and Prakash who have figured out the best processes after being in business for decades and will most definitely compensate you if there are damages, their reputation is built on that, these folks believe in customer service. We’ve used them in the past and can vouch that they are leagues ahead of EZMove. So to sum it up - EZMove is a one trick pony, they offer lower rates by aggregating, however you are still at the mercy of the vendor who actually executes the movement because EZMove will not compensate you for any loss even if there is insurance involved. Rank bad customer service, all show no substance.
We have learnt our lesson. Never, Never again! Such apathy #EZMove
