All rise.....(Part II)

Ever since I wrote the review on five worst actors I kept thinking that I owe an explanation for my choices. The best way to explain is to tell you all that if that I think was the worst then what is the best in mi opinion.

So once again people I call upon you.

All rise?.for here comes the famous five.

They are famous, they are well known but the fact to be noticed is that they earned it hard.

What do I say about these chosen five? Some of them actually put Indian cinema on international portal and gave it the much deserved recognition it other wise didn?t get. They are all icons in their own way. They all gave new amplitudes to Indian cinema. They possess a style of their own but their style is not limited to some funny and weird gestures. It was the finesse in their acting which became their style. They lived the characters they were supposed to play. That?s one thing which made them stood higher then the rest of the crowd. That?s one thing which made their fan revere them .

*Big B*

He came and was declared hopeless . They suggested him to try out a career in singing.

Talent speaks for itself and in the case of this prodigiously talented actor it didn?t only speak it actually shouted in the face of the critics.

His first act **Saat Hindustani(1969)** went unnoticed . Then eventually came **Zanzeer **, his major breakthrough and there was no looking back after that.

The multifaceted actor who on one hand is remembered for his **angry young man** image in movies like **diwaar** on the other hand his talent as a comedian also can?t be overlooked . Be it Anthony Gonsalez in **Amar Akbar Anthony** or the guy in a fight scene in **Sharabi**.

Not to forget his talent as a singer. Remember **?rang bares bheege chunar vali?**?

*Hero Hiralal*

*Naseeruddin Shah: **Over 100+ films, many memorable performances, various awards to his credit and this 50+ actor is still growing.

Be it **Gulfaam Sahab** of **sarfarosh **or the wacko character in **Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyun Aata Hai?*

Naseer who is mainly known for his serious performances was equally impressive in comedy roles also .You can refer **Jaane bhi do Yaaro **for example.

Mirza ghalib was a major mile stone in his acting career. I can?t think of anybody else who could do justice to that character.

*Om Puri*

Let me take the example of an otherwise crap movie **Aavara Paagal Deewana**.

Those of you who dared watch it may remember The scene in which Om puri is dying. He talking gibberish about his village, mango trees in his backyard, some tasty chaat he had once or whatever. It was a mere ten minute role and he left his mark with it.

Acting is a piece of cake for this guys from **NSD**. They act very well, they really do. Om puri acted in 130+ movies and like naseer this 50+ actor too is still growing.

From **Ghasi Ram Kotwal** To **King Ob Bollywood** he has come a long way. The only Indian ever to win **OBE**.

I simply don?t have the right words for this wonderful actor.

*Munna Bhai*

*Aamir Khan:** The funny and simple hearted Munna in **Rangeela** who asks the waiter in restaurant to switch on the fan. When told that AC is on he ask him to turn the AC towards him.

Yes! I know you all liked him for that flick and many others . He made us laugh In **Ishq and DCH**, he inspired us in **Lagaan**, he impressed us in **sarfarosh**.

An actor who gave importance to quality instead of quantity. Of course there were let downs like **Mela** but everybody makes mistakes at times.

Every year he bless us with a mind blowing performance and then gone for a long time to come up with another one.

*Ajay devgan*

This versatile actor has proved himself in many ways. The funny guy of **Ishq**, the serious and thoughtful performance in **HDDCS** or the villainous character in **Khaaki**. He easily molded himself into the character he is supposed to play.

His effortless acting which comes naturally to him keeps him several steps higher from his contemporaries. His wonderful performance in **Zakhm** won him the national award for the same .

Call me prejudiced or whatever but I judge beforehand that his forthcoming **raincoat** is gonna be a winner(one more reason of thinking so is that its rituparno ghosh?s first hindi movie).

A common characteristics among all five of them was they proved themselves great at comedies. So I conclude, apart from many other things one most important thing that makes difference is whether or not an actor is able to make his audience laugh. Put a smile to your audience?s face and they will love you.

Thks for reading

*Jai*

P.s. I couldn’t mention some great actors like **Dileep Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Farookh Sheikh, Amol Palekar** and many more. I decided to take a mix of old and new ones .
