Unethical practice of mentioning inflated MRP

I had ordered 2 items - "Hammer Help Emergency Hammer GI" and "Formula 1 Carnauba Wax-Paste-230 gms" from futurebazaar.com on 01-March-2012 vide order no. 5056735135.


As per futurebazaar.com, MRP of "Hammer Help Emergency Hammer GI" is Rs. 499/- on which they offered 5% discount. The effective price was Rs. 474. Since I had ordered another item along with this and combined price of both items exceeded Rs. 500/-, shipping was free.


To my surprise, I received "Hammer Help Emergency Hammer GI" not from futurebazaar but from their vendor "Gifting Ideas". When I checked the website of "Gifting Ideas", I was shocked to find that the MRP of this item is only Rs. 399/- including all taxes and with free shipping. Futurebazaar had inflated the MRP from Rs. 399/- to 499/- and then given discount of 5%. This is highly unethical. Futurebazaar simply acted as a "middleman". I placed order on futurebazaar and paid Rs. 474/- to futurebazaar. Futurebazaar simply passed on my name and shipping address to "Gifting Ideas" and made a cool profit of Rs. 75/-(or may be more depending on the agreement between Futurebazaar and Gifting Ideas).


I could have placed my order directly on "Gifting Ideas" and saved Rs. 75/-.


After this experience, I will never buy anything from futurebazaar again.


By the way, I am still waiting for the second item in my order i.e. "Formula 1 Carnauba Wax-Paste-230 gms". I have been informed that it has been dispatched and in transit. Hope I receive it soon and don’t get another shock.


EDIT: I received the second item i.e. "Formula 1 Carnauba Wax-Paste-230 gms" on 13-March-2012 after a lot of follow up with Aramex courier. At one point of time, I was told by Aramex courier that my location is un-serviceable and they cannot deliver the product. When I asked them why they accepted the shipment, they said that sender should check before dispatching material! After I wrote a complaint on their website, matter was resolved and I finally got delivery on 13-March-2012.
