I made the mistake of getting locked on to Hathway’s long term plan(Location: Bellandur, Bangalore). Right from installation, it has been rough sailing for me.
1) Connection is down during most weekends due to "critical maintenance"
2) Occasionally, you get good speeds. Mostly it is crawling
3) Customer Service is pathetic - It’s difficult to connect to their helpdesk. If you do get connected, they can cut you off anytime when they’re faced with difficult questions. If you manage to speak to them long enough, they will promise to resolve the issue "within 4 hrs", "by evening/morning" or in "24 Hrs." They do not understand or document your problem correctly(once I had called about slow speed and they took a request for data usage to be sent to me!). If you ask them to connect to a supervisor/manager, they will put you on hold for over 15 minutes and cut you off, thus wasting your time. They close the ticket "automatically" within 12 hrs, even without resolving the issue.
I regret not disconnecting at the very first opportunity. My advise: Stay away. But if you’re too tempted with their offers, try for a month to see if it works for you - don’t lock yourself in for long term.
