Despicable Customer Care and Cheating by Hathway

I subscribed to Hathway Broadband in December 2014, on the 50 MBps 50 GB plan- payable for three months at a time. While I have never been exceptionally happy with the speed and the service as a whole, I stuck with Hathway for the sake of convenience.

However, I recently contacted Customer Care and logged a request for a transfer of the connection from Indiranagar to Kalyan Nagar. I was told that the feasibility of the transfer would be assessed and I would receive a response within 2-3 working days. I was also informed by Customer Care Executive Darshan, that in case a transfer was not possible, the connection would be terminated and I would receive a full refund for the remaining 2 months of my subscription, which is totally paid for, till December 15, 2015.

Upon receiving no response from Hathway after 3 working days, I myself called Customer Care once again and was informed that a transfer to Kalyan Nagar is not feasible and hence th connection would be terminated at my convenience. When I asked to discuss about the matter of the refund, I was bluntly informed that since mine was a prepaid connection, the subscription amount for the remaining two months will NOT be refunded to me. When I demanded to escalate the matter to a higher authority, the female Customer Care Executive first refused outright to do the same, and upon my further insistence told me that her Supervisor/Manager had not come to office yet and hence this was not possible(this was at 11 am in the morning).

I proceeded to ask for a Complaint Number and also requested the Executive to tell me her name for the sake of some accountability; given the unscrupulous and unprincipled handling of this matter so far. Upon this demand, the lady disconnected the call immediately without any response. I made numerous attempts to call back to her extension number, and each time the call was either directly cut, or the call was received and then disconnected.

When I called the her number from another phone, the call was answered by a lady called Vinodhini and she claimed that she had never spoken to me previously or disconnected my calls. By this point I was furious, and the lack responsiveness, and moreover ethics, was just intolerable.

This is an open request for anyone who can provide me counsel and support to please come forward. Hathway owes me nearly Rs.3000 for the unavailed subscription of two months that I paid for. More importantly, nobody deserves to suffer at the hands of a fraudulent and corrupt organization like Hathway.

I do not recommend Hathway Broadband to anyone.
