Heart of the inner darkness revealed

Heart of darkness by Joseph Conrad is the seminal text that is described as a great example of colonial text. It describes how the western people colonize Africa and African people physically, mentally, geographically and spatially. Conrad probably describes his own journey as a shipman to the congo coast and his huge experience there. The text describes how african people are colonized, dehumanized due to hunger, due to the invasion the west. The description of ape like apperance of african people, their death like situation tell the miserabilty of them. But Conrad’s description of them as savage, man eater, woen as seductive, serpent like are rapidly criticized as a colonial one thta’s why Chinua Achebe criticizes him greatly inhis novel and essays. The story revolves through the conzo regarding Marlow and his journey and death. Although lengthy, its a great novel to read.
