Think Fish, the kokani style, and there are very few Good restaurants that come to Mind. And amongst those few is the Highway Gomantak.This hotel is quite close to the National highway (western express) and is situated at Bandra(E).
Amongst the non-veg foods, fish is something that I love. And hence, it was with some misgivings that I first went to this place. It was renovated recently, and somehow I felt that It did not have the right ambience. However I went there on hearsay with my friends. Let me tell u, friends, ambience or no ambience, If it is good Kokni seafood you are after, this is just the place for you.And this place, for the quality, is easy on the pocket too. The menu is quite good. You have fish frys of almost all kinds, plus the gabholi fry (fish eggs) - a delicacy. Generally u can start of with the fish curry offer ( fish of ur choice Or Prawns), with either Rice and chappati’s - this will be given with a small vati of Kokum kadhi. Or there is rice Bhakri with the curry. This I’d advise only to those who r used to heavy chewing.
The fish fry’s are excellent. Do not expect heavenly service.Enjoy the food, and be on your way. I have been there twice now, and will keep visiting as often as I can. Each time I have eaten there, I have left with a contented smile on my face.Hmmm
