Really practical!

The city has enjoyed a comfortable position in the sales charts. Honda later had launched the facelifted city. From its launch there are so many of them running on the roads, almost as many as the esteems! It is really a good car, and for indian conditions it is the most practical.

There is also the cvt transmission which is the most suitable for indian stop go traffic and is convenient because of the automatic transmission. The city is one of the best cars in the c segment. The reason? Read on to find out.

The looks of the city have been a bit controversial. Not many people like it. If you go by looks, the city is no stunner. The headlamps are very radical and are multi reflector. The bonnet goes down steeply which does not really look good. In the side, you can notice the steep fall of the bonnet. The alloys are good. The tail lamp is more or less like the accord’s. They are also multi reflector. The tail lamps are not really that bad.

The old city definitely had better looks. But this car is very modern and when it I placed next to the old city, the old city will look outdated. The build quality is again as good as all hondas. The fit and finish is also excellent. Agreed, the city is not the most beautiful car around, but look at its practicality first, not looks.

The engine runs on petrol and can displace 1.5 litres. It has the capacity to pump out 77 horses which is not really that impressive. The engine is easily the most refined in its class and is extra quiet. Whatever little noise there is, gets filtered from outside and nothing enters the cabin. The powerplant may not be really powerful, but even if the power is less, the performance is stunning.

The car accelerates with confidence and makes it to the 60 km/h mark in less than 7 seconds. It hits the century in just about 13.5 seconds. This performance is truly surprising. Top speed is around 170 km/h/. All these specs show that the city is the best in its class.

The interior has changed a lot compared to the old city. The dash is all new and is inspired by that of the accord. There is a little wood here and there which looks and feels fake all right. The steering is wrapped in leather and looks and feels good. Teh instrumentation is good. The new city has lots of space, much more than the old city. Maybe this is because of the steeply angled bonnet and other such features. Teh seats are comfortable. There is sufficient legroom in the rear.the interior is one very good example of practicality. Even though the looks are strange, they have managed to clear a lot of space inside which matters more.

The fuel efficiency is also very impressive (what is not?). In the city the city vtec with manual transmission can travel around 12 km on one litre of petrol. In the highway it consumes just one litre for travelling as much as 18 km! This is also very practical as all indian car drivers demand ultra low running costs. These figures can further be improved by careful driving.

All in all the city is really practical. Especially in india. Whatever is really needed is there. Spacious interior, very good fuel efficiency, excellent performance and a good engine. Even the looks are good to an extent. The city is a really good car and speaks up for itself through the sales figures. Ignore the looks, and the city is almost perfect in other areas. If you have a budget of around 7.5 lakhs, the honda city is your best bet.
