A 3-year report-refined to perfection

I was looking for a bike in the 150cc segment and I shortlisted pulsar, unicorn & Apache rtr, first test drove pulsar but didn’t like its quality, gear shift and its also very common, then the RTR which had everything a enthusiast could look for but I felt it’s a incomplete full sized bike in which you will have to think twice before taking doubles and its mileage and position is also a downside, but note that a front end pickup of these bikes are more than a uni, but uni’s middle and upper end pick up is more peppy and refined. Then I finally went for a red Honda Unicorn and it has been 7 months and 5000kms am completely happy, satisfied and feel graduated to write a review

LOOKS & FEEL

Unicorn looks pretty good with its black alloys and its black painted engine and stickering is good too, it gives the rider a big bike feel and a very comfortable seating position, with its seat offering good support and at no point until now I have had any back discomfort once you start driving the soft humming of the refined engine gets drowned in the traffic noise, its instrument panel are easy to read but cannot be compared to the digital console of pulsar, which is also expensive to replace incase of accidents.

RIDE & EXPERIENCE

The more you drive a Unicorn more you realize how dependable and refined it is, the 149.cc motor is the most refined engine of the whole 150cc lot, ride and handling is excellent thanks to mono suspension it handles perfectly in curves, it city conditions its great as it has a great riding position and a smooth engine and its very stable in high speeds in highways kudos to its mono suspension and 150kg weight.I have done various long distance trips and am very impressed with its highway manners, it feels very stable even at 90+ and no vibrations what so ever.I am 5.8 ft in height and would personally recommend this bike only to people who are above 5.2ft tall, because short people would it uncomfortable because its seating is a little high.

MAX SPEED: I have touched a max of 120kms(Speedo).

RELIABILITY: It’s a very reliable bike, but should always remember to warm the engine by idling it for a min or 2 during cold days.

MILEAGE

Its claimed to give 60, but it gives me between 45-50 in city conditions, the max and min I have got is around 54 and 38.

PRICE: 65000(on road, Bangalore)

VERDICT

Its an true allrounder, you cant go wrong with it.
