I made two transactions in Oct 11 using ICICI at CROMA store. At the time of making both the transactions, I was told I will get 5% cashback(with max limit of Rs 1000) on transaction > 9999. This advertisement was clearly displayed at CROMA store in Oct 11 and they confirmed that I will be eligible for the cashback.
Now when I wrote to ICICI Bank their response is that scheme was from July to Aug. If scheme was for July - Aug, why were there big big banners at CROMA announcing the scheme in Oct? The banners showed the scheme is valid till Oct 31.
Even the credit card statement in that month and few newspaper ads announced this same scheme of 5% cashback on transactions > 9999.
Such a big bank and credit card company has to stoop to this level cheating Rs 1000 per transaction from general public. SHAME ON YOU ICICI BANK.
UPDATE IN DEC 11 -> ICICI finally admitted their mistake. There was indeed a promotion at CROMA in Oct where they were supposed to give the cash back . now the cash back has been credited to my account .
