I landed up with a gift certificate which I could redeem only at indiaplaza.in. Having no past experience with this particular website, I went ahead with the shopping excitedly. Reading the description of the products available on the website gave me creeps as the spelling mistakes and improper grammar left me speechless and doubtful about the genuineness of the website.
After having placed my order for a 42 PCS Coloring Set with Educational English Learning Laptop - Kids/Childrens Toys on July 25th 2009, I waited patiently for 5 days, awaiting the arrival of the laptop which I thought would be a nice gift for my kid. I decided to check on the status of the order as the online status read Ready to ship for all of those 5 days that I waited.When I called, I spoke to customer service executives who did not know absolutely anything... they were telling me that it was ready to ship - Duh! I did not have to make a STD call to find out what I could read online.
It took me almost 2 weeks just to find out the status of my order. None of the customer support staff were able to help me with details pertaining to my order. After a zillion calls to their Bangalore Office, (which is not toll free), and very less calls actually being returned, I almost lost all hope of getting the product delivered. I had to yell at the team lead to get my order shipped. After two weeks, they informed me that the product was not available with them at that moment. I just didnt understand why they advertised a product on their website if they did not have it or did not have the back-up in place. Absolutely crappy process in place, co-ordination and service!
After spending a lot of money, time, effort in calling these people and driving some sense into them, I finally managed to get the products shipped on August 10th 2009. I specifically mentioned to them that I expected the product to be of good quality and that I would not just lie down and take a crappy piece of plastic for a product. Inspite of my assertion on the quality, I received an extremely cheap quality laptop, that I would never ever buy for any child - leave alone my child. I immediately called them back on August 11th, and asked them to take it back as I was not going to pay Rs.580 for something as cheap and useless like that! I am still waiting for their courier services to come and pick it up.
I have already mailed their customer service, for which I received a prompt response saying that someone will call in 2 days time. I truly dont know when I will ever receive a call and get the entire process reversed. I thought the drama was over when I received the product, but now, I realise that the nightmare has just begun! Indiaplaza.in is absolutely unprofessional. Commenting and replying to all of its reviews on mouthshut.com is not going to make things seem better. They really have to improve their entire process from receiving the order to making sure the product delivered is of really good quality. For the moment, Indiaplaza.in is something people should avoid. Please do yourselves some good and choose alternate options for your online shopping needs.
