I tried ordering a cake(order #507222) to gift someone from this website. I saw the online reviews here and decided to order thinking they are genuine.
Firstly, the website is terrible. Post payment, I didn’t get an order confirmation and the order id and just got a blank page. I had to call their customer care to check if the order went through and whether this site was indeed genuine, and they routed to me to check for an email with order confirmation(which was in my spam folder). I was assured of delivery by today by the customer service executive.
An hour later, I got a razorpay link with an additional demand for Rs 200 for delivery. I had ordered from their site, coz they had a prominent banner saying "Free delivery across india". Also, in the checkout flow, I had opted for normal delivery and skipped the paid options. Now, their customer service’s counter is that hidden in their tabs on delivery charges, they have mentioned they may reach out for extra charges if the distance is more. This is a nice line to cover themselves while they conduct this bait and switch fraud.
This is their modus operandi for their bait and switch fraud uncovered - prominently state on their site that the delivery is free across india to get customers attention. Show some paid delivery options in the checkout flow(based on timing), which most customers will skip over. Post initial payment, post sometime they will send out a demand for extra delivery charges. Many unsuspecting customers will pay up as they don’t want the cake delivery to be delayed and spoil the birthday event for their loved ones.
Very unethical business and best avoided.
I have tried to cancel my order and still awaiting their response. Will update this review based on their response.
Update on 01/01 - Yet to receive a refund and yet to receive a reply from them to my emails.
