I loved reading the reviews in this section.very interesting. Most I felt were coming out of personal experiences.
I thought I would add a few more lines.
Learn in a small car.will help in faster familiarization with the back front and the passesnger side of the car and overall manouverability(Bet I spelt that wrong!)
Easier to learn how to reverse in a small car.can you imagine doing it on something the size iof the accord.very difficult!
Practise even while not driving.I did that.I used to sitin the car and just change gears.helped me develop coordination between the clutch and the gear changing.
Observe others.look how others do it.ask questions.why did u change the gear now.why turn the wheel only so much and whatever else may come into your mind.the answers u get will not only, once again, help in familarizing u with cars and driving but could assist u when u finally get behind the wheel.
Remember to do a little research on your driving school, if ur going in for one, many of them charge exorbitant(spl?) rates and then give u little or no attention. It should be per your cnvenience not theirs.
Never hesitate to do anything.if you are afraid of getting onto the highway the faster you do it the better.it will help u in getting rid of that apprehension. An aunt of mine is so scared that she has till date not passed any of her driving school tests.and she has taken about 15.all because she refuses to get out onto the higway.the irony of it is that she is the worst backseat driver I have come across!
Wear what u are comfortable in.drop your fashion instincts.very tight jeans, boots ar not the most condusive to learning.and especially notthing flashy if u have an instructor.not paying him to look at you are you! Trust me.that actually happens.
Dont ever learn on hills.it becomes a dfferent ball game.the basics remain the same but owing to smaller roads, sharp curves, inclines its much harder.find a relatively flat road.
Dont be a hero. Listen to what the instructor has to say.no need to act oversmart.
Remember to have fun.its not all that serious.!
