MICROWAVE (MW) COOKING
I have always want to learn something new all the time. On the top of my wish list to learn : Fly a small plane, learn magic and card tricks and learn to cook.
Of the three I am quite close to learn to cook and cook fast.
WHY COOK?
Half my life I am at sea on a ship. Sometimes we get great cooks other times bad cooks. If I could cook, then I could train the ship?s cook to cook great. On board the ships kitchen we have fancy gadgets.
Sometimes my wife cooks great other times she cooks not at all because she has a Golf Game to play. If I could cook, I care two tuppence for her.
My good friend and neighbor had similar problems like I have. Actually his problems were more serious then mine.
After marriage his wife never cooked! She said her Mom never taught her and that her Mom always had a cook in her kitchen all her life.
My fren had taken lot?s of Dahej in marriage, so he kept his MouthShut. He had a ?No fight? policy with his wife and bought his peace by hiring a cooking maid. They continue to live happily. Other than cooking she is a nice wife.
Besides, cooking is a creative hobby. So many of my men friends cook great.
THE LG MODEL MC 808 WAR!
My good neighbor is my great friend. He bought an LG microwave cooker. This model costs a cool Rs 15, 000/- . It came loaded with many free goodies including a surprise gift! What gift? A new WIFE dude!. Makes the existing one redundant!
If you take a loan from GE Countrywide Finance, they give you free dinner and cooking set for 6, plus cookware for the micro..
This model is a multipurpose thing. Convectional cooking makes for a fan that spreads the heat evenly around the food stuff giving it an all round brown glow. It has the standard rotatory base and rotatory skewers for cooking tandoors.
LG organizes Microwave cooking classes too.
INDIAN RECEPIES
The LG cook book comes with recipes for Indian and Continental cooking. You can fix tandoori chicken, bake cakes, fix pizza bases, make pizzas the works.
OUR FIRST NIGHT
First night, my fren and I got down to cooking kebabs and paneer veggie tikkas. The MW has a skewer, which rotates. We got some kheema and Ms Parvati Bai (the maid) helped us do the marinating and masala the kheema. Then like a Lord of the Ring, my fren placed the kheema on the skewer and put it inside the MW. He was anxious! He was nervous. He was ??on his way to become someone.
Our wives watched at us amused and gibbering away as usual poking fun at us.
We two pals were sitting in front of the MW, watching the skewers turn round n round. To us this was like as if we were inventing a whole new cooking style unknown to the rest of the world. We were utterly fascinated!
Presto inside 20 minutes the thing was done. All brown and dripping with juices!
My turn to skewer some veggies with paneer. 14 minutes and we were done.
TIME TO EAT
No fears on that count. The kebabs and paneer veggies tasted great. They were top class!
Our wives chewed liked demons into the kebabs and the Paneer veggies but made some irrelevant comments like some here on Mouthshut. What are wives for? They must read afrank?s (Sujata?s) review on how to comment good.
QED
This week end we plan to roast Tandoori chickens and experiment with desserts. The permutations and combinations of cookery are endless.
Let them wives gibber away. Who cares? Man has gotta eat! The Army marches on it?s stomach.
Hey guys. Go for this LG MC 808. We are doing it
You can do it!
