Mom’s breakfast gets consumed and passes the small intestine long before the First Interval bell rings. So from then till the Long Bell at 1:00pm, a large wolf keeps growling every now and then. Enter Canteen. In May 1987, our school introduced a Canteen where you get small snacks like Butter Biscuit, Soft Cake, Omlettes and also Maggie Noodles. That was the first time in my life I ever heard about ’’Noodles’’. For 5 rupees you get a plate full of this ’’Stuff’’ which this guy made from a saute pan in 2 minutes!!! Oh god that taste is still lingering in my mouth...
October 1995, SAIL, Durgapur, West Bengal
After reaching the Engineer’s Hostel on the first day of our work in SAIL at 10pm, we realise that the mess has closed and no other chance of a decent meal!! (In durgapur the nearest Dhaba/Hotel is 6Km away and we had no bike then.) Suddenly a bulb glows on my head, mom packed 6 packets of a wonder stuff and I smile and rush to the Mess Kitchen. I pay 20 bucks and make that good Bengali cook to boil these 3 packets of ’’wonder stuff’’ and put it in 6 plates and rush to my room, where everyone was sitting. Aah that day I got such words which Itchak Rabin will not get if he foregoes his claim on Gaza!!! Yes we had Maggi Noodles that night.....
Present Day, 2003, Bangalore
Whenever I ask wifey, ’’Kichu ache khabar?’’ Is there anything to eat’’, after 5 minutes I get a bowl of soup + Noodles!!! This was invented by the Wife. Knorr Soup Mix + Maggi Noodles = Wonderful Evening Snack!!!

I realised after posting this that I havent talked about Maggi at all, so here it is.
Maggi Noodles is basically rice noodles dried out completely and comes along with a Taste maker which contains spices & flavour.
All you have to do is bring couple of cups of water to boil, break the noodles into it, add the Tastemaker and Voila! in 2 minutes you have a simple, fast snack to feast on.
According to Nestle, Maggie contains Carbohydrates & Proteins. It also contains MSG (Mono Sodium Glutamate) (it is also called Aji-no-moto. please correct me if Im wrong...), which is used as a food enhancer. Is it Healthy
This is a question any parent will ask about Maggi Noodles. The answer is NO. Maggi Noodles is just a snack. Please dont use it so often that your kid will insist that for lunch. Even it means that your kid does a ’’Fasting’’!!
The Last Word
Maggi Noodles is a Life Saver. Have a Maggi packet at home, it will solve the toughest snack problem at times ’’chutki me’’!!!. But its a Snack, not a Meal...
