I should not forget to tell you, I am the 3rd buyer of Maruti Esteem LX (a Sept ’96 model), but I have a smooth chicky car on hands. I paid only 1, 20, 000 INR for it, but believe me its a value for money car.
Absolutely stunning performance and glides on road. Any Esteem model after 96 would be called a good buy and I bet you would never regret it.
Likes
- Very smooth on rough road
- Sturdy body
- Safe (which almost noone considers as a major factor while buying a 4 wheeler)
- Very high top speed (comfortable on long drives)
- Good visibility in heavy traffic (cheers Maruti, as it is always with any car from Maruti)
- Huge space in the boot and the car (I think, Esteem is the only car after Cielo to have such huge boot capacity)
Dislikes
- Higher turning radius
- Should not buy without power steering (mine was a used car, hence I had no choice)
- With AC, fuel average drops a lot
