I have been using S Cross Zeta LE 1.3 for the past one month. I must say that I am really impressed with this car. I chose S cross over Ford Ecosport and Vitara Brezza. Here is my review
1) S Cross has several premium features that come at a very reasonable price. If you are a person looking for maximum value to every penny of your Money, then ZETA Limited Edition 1.3 is the model for you. It comes with some premium fittings such as
a) Keyless Entry and Push Button Start(Believe me, you will realise the benefits of this feature only when you start using it). I can see people around me wondering how I get into the car just by pressing a button on the door handle.
b) Very spacious interior(S Cross is 300 mm longer that Ecosport and Vitara Brezza). Very easy to get in and out particularly for the back seat passengers.
c) Leather seat covers(or LE model) and Blue Lighting give a Premium feel. Black OVRMs look great if you chose Premium Silver colour. Dashboard is nicely designed. Bluetooth compatible Audio system with Steering mounted audio controls.
d) 16" Alloy wheels add to the Premium Look. All four tyres are with Disc Brakes(this is Something worth taking note of).
e) Important safety features such as Two Airbags, ABS and EBD. I havent tried the Cruise Control feature on this car. But If you get an opportunity to use it( you need an Expressway to try this feature) then you will simply love it as it takes the pressure out of your right leg and makes you enjoy your long drives.
f) Very spacious Boot.
g) Ex.Showroom price is less that Rs 10 L. So that saves Luxury Tax.
h) Finally the tried and trusted 1.3 L Engine with very good fuel efficiency. But for the additional Rs 2.0L, I would have liked to go for 1.6 L Engine variant. But 1.3 L is enough for me.
Some areas for Improvement
1) Offer variable geometry Engine(Offered in Vitara Brezza) instead of Fixed Geometry.
2) No DRLs and LED Lights for all that Premium talk.(Offered only in the top variant that is prohibitively expensive)
3) No "Automatic" option(Thus losing out a slice to Creta).
4) At times you will feel the "Under Power" of the 1.3 L Engine. But If you are not a "speed King", then you will learn to live with it.
If you are looking for a cross over vehicle that is spacious, reasonably priced and low acquisition & maintenance cost then S Cross is a good option. I do not find the so called higher ground clearance feature of Brezza and Ecosport so compelling. In fact I found that both Brezza and Ecosport are very compact particulary for the back seat passengers. Also higher ground clearance makes it difficult to get in and out of the car.
