Inspector Colombo with a twist!

However difficult it may be to reach home by 9 pm on a Friday, do try! Of course, getting home and getting to watch the channel and program you want to watch are two different things altogether!

Well, I did manage to reach home by 9 pm and in the face of strong competition from KBC2, I did catch the 4th Nov. episode.

Had seen the last season of Monk and this season kept to the quality of the first. Tony Shalhoub is simply brilliant as the quirky detective coming to terms with life after his wife’s death.

The way Monk’s condition (a bit like Jack Nicholson in ’As Good As It Gets) is woven into the story seamlessly, the way Monk looks at what everyone looks at but sees beyond the obvious are the highlights of the series. The stories are simple but keep you guessing till the end. There is no flashy action, no violence, just the right touch of comedy and mystery to make it a fun watch.

If you have seen and liked the 80s Inspector Colombo series (what I would give for a rerun or a DVD!) you will like Monk.
