This is not the story of Sardine (the incubator) or of Crotchian
(dot commer with an idea) as other reviews may have you believe.....but
its about a famous lace doily covered bed that sits pretty inside an
elephants ass........and is witness to the sordid erotic happenings
that take place upon it.....how it is abused, tormented, and the how it
takes its own life.....
The LDC Bed is set in an eclectic atmosphere charged with 1950 pop hits,
1999 rap hits, wishy washy ideas and Christmas tree lights, , which
explains why all of Paris lies in darkness, while the Blue elephant is
bedecked with Chinese lanterns, tube lights, red lights etc...
It also has surrounding it red satin sheets, orange walls, a broken
sitar (erotica !!) , blue bed spreads (i know...i know...), a fully
stoked liquor cabinet and a condom-dispensing machine.....
The plot unravels itself to show how the horny Sardine and the lusty
Crotchian make out on it till the springs pop out (poor LDCB) while
Discussing The Idea...thereafter how the Duck (the VC ) and sardine make
out on it ....or almost....when Crotchian comes to the rescue (realizing
that the bubble is going to burst so no need for the VC funding....its
now blue tooth) ...and takes her away to his bed set on a hot tin
roof...again no electricity....so the LDC bed feels left out since in
reality it is the one thats in love with Sardine and cant bear the fact
that She is with the man of another bed....
Meanwhile many many women from the Mouler & Rogue come and discuss
business plans on it...one of them has consumption....and the bed takes
a sample of it from her...while she is....well never mind....
The bed tries to make Sardine fall in love with the Duck - who is the
beds man...but in vain...so gives her consumption.....and so she
dies...but not before coming out with the IPO for the busted idea....hey
its all business and its the VCs money....
The highlights of the movie are the excellently choreographed song and
dance sequences involving penguins, Lord Krishna, and assorted naked
ladies....
worth a watch !!
