Buying an MTS data card is like gambling!

Even though there were millions of negative reviews here, and all over the internet, I still went and bought an MTS Mblaze postpaid connection. The maximum advertised speed is 9.8Mbps, but customer care guys say that it averages around 1 mbps! I used it for around 6 months, hoping for better days, but the speed kept getting lower and lower! In the beginning, I was getting around 0.8 mbps, which was hardly acceptable. But for the last 4 months, I was getting below 0.5 mbps always! It was even slower than 2G.

Although I have to agree that if you get 100% network strength in your house/room, then you should be able to enjoy around 2-4 mbps easily! I took my data card to my friend’s house, and found it out. His house is hardly 1 Km far from my house, but the signal falls from 100% to 30%. I also took my data card to my cousin’s house, 200m far from my house. There I was getting around 1 mbps, with downloading at around 100 KBPS(kilo bytes). He has also bought an MTS wifi dongle, which works ok, he gets the same speed of around 1 mbps average.

In conclusion, buying an MTS mblaze is like gambling, you might just win. But I don’t think more than 20% of MTS customers get acceptable speed like my cousin!

So stay away from such pathetic connection, instead buy a GSM data card like huawei, micromax, iball etc. And get a 3G connection from reputed companies like Airtel, vodafone, idea, docomo or even bsnl!
