Let me first tell you that the concept of the MiFi is a winner. No Doubt. All you need is a wall power socket and an USB adaptor or some kind of a USB power source and youre connected to the internet. You dont need to specifically connect it to a computer or a laptop or you dont even need to connect it to a tablet to get it running.BRILLIANT!
HOW I WISH THAT THIS WAS BROUGHT OUT BY SOME OTHER RELIABLE ISP !
I think of MTS and the first thing that JARS me is their customer service.
Being a CS Trainer myself, I was appalled by the kind of customer service these guys mete out.
To say the least, they are Arrogant, Sarcastic, absolutely Unprofessional and pathetically ignorant of their product. The most untrained agents. All of them, EXCEPT when the call landed in Kerala (the other calls landed elsewhere.in Hyderabad or Bangalore I assume) I think, the Customer Service was courteous. Just once.
As for the product, the fastest speed I have ever got was 21.4 kbps download and 16.9 kbps upload (OOKLA Speed Test Results).
I paid INR 2300 for the dongle and post paid connection of INR 580 monthly for speeds UPTO 9 mbps(LIES). Technically, they would be right because they say UPTO and never say UPFROM.
The usage of UPTO is to be prohibited and all ISPs should be forced to disclose actual speeds and not UPTO speeds.
I guess all ISPs who lie to us about giving us a certain speed and not doing so can and should be brought to the notice of the Consumer Forum. When you and I buy a kilo of rice or anything for a price, we expect and would not allow 10 grams below a KILO. Why not the same with these guys ?
I think its high time we take action. This should not continue in a country like India.
