I live in Kochi, Kerala. I had upgraded from MBlaze dongle to MBlaze Wifi dongle in March this year for the higher speed advertised. The representative who came to install the device told me that the speed would be about 4-5 mbps. However, my experience has been very negative. Maximum speed I received was under 1.5 mbps intermittently. There were numerous signal strength issues which came up.
Tried using it from my cars USB port and found that the speed was the same(under 2 mbps) even in main part of Kochi city. To confirm, this I had Checked near MTS office on Edappally Bypass Road. As I had friends working for MTS, I could get the networking team to check on signal strength and activated a Yagi antenna to boost the signal last month. But the speed continued to be slow(at times .2 mbps) so I have decided to stop using the device.
Have moved to a new plan on BSNL(DSL) on my landline and that one is doing a lot better. I hope this company would spend some time on building their network infrastracture before advertising special schemes and pushing various data packages. Today I received an sms from them with info on a "5GB free" if I re-charged today. Feel the strategy is to lure folks with promises of Gigabytes(yeah, we all crave data) and fall for those.
