On 11th of Feb, I received a message about MTS Mblaze dongle. They mentioned unmatched speed upto 9.8 MBPS and terrific coverage and a one-time paytm cashback of Rs. 300. I contacted them, the lady(in this context) said that all was true to best of her belief. Taking a leap of faith, I told the lady my address and within 5 hours, there was a guy at my doorstep to give me this piece of crap and take away my hard-earned money.
Well, the delivery was done without any major headache and Boy! I was impressed. But following it, the dream turned into a nightmare.
Every time I contacted the customer care, they’d tell me that it will be done by evening. This went on for about 5 days. One day, one person contacted me and told me that my home area was out of their zone. WTF! Straight in my face. On top of that, they refused to take the device back. Talk about thugs and MTS is the first thing which comes to my mind.
However, an alternative address solved the activation problem. I activated the device(admin & admin), connected it and there was another surprise waiting for me.
Leave speed alone, the connection is not reliable at all. One second it is flashing green light, and another it is all red. The maximum speed I’ve got is 1 MBPS. Also, sometimes it only opens google and its sister sites i.e. youtube, gmail and refuses to open other sites. The Wi-Fi coverage is all the same story. Upto 10 metres, it is all fine, after it, the connection is lost. Contact customer care and all they have is the suggestion to reset my dongle.
One month later, they sent bill to my e-mail address. It was Rs. 598. When I contacted customer care about how to redeem my one-time paytm cashback of Rs.300. They replied that the cashback was only valid for the month of January. Another smack in the face. Told them about the lady and her claims and asked why didn’t they tell me it before. They act like real life Jon Snow. They know nothing about it.
Please don’t buy MTS or any of its products. Avoid them like you avoid the awkward looking tomato while shopping for groceries. Please, I beseech you.
