I bought this stylish Nokia 7500 Prism last week for Rs 9800/- with one year warranty. Its something unique from Nokia. I liked the looks so much that I got tempted to buy one for myself. Its slim & surprisingly very light weight. It "can be" the phone with least weight.I guess. Its design is inspired by diamond crystals. From keys to the battery cover everything is diamond edge shaped. Even the leather strap, flash light and camera lens are similarly shaped. It looks very futuristic. Available only in black colour. Its very compact but has a decently large screen.
The buttons are nice to touch with a soft feel. But the joy stict is a bit hard to operate(compared to Sony Erricson sets). This cell phone is for fashion conscious people as it comes with three color strips which can be changed according to your taste within seconds. The LCD screen of 7500 is extremely sharp & clear with 16 million colour display. It comes with a 2 Mega pixel camera with LED flash.
I captured some amazing snaps using this camera. But at night the picture quality is not very good(not bad also). The video quality is just acceptable for a phone in this price range.Sound quality of 7500 is clear with nice effects of trebble & we can customise the songs to our taste using the equaliser(four preset equalisers modes also available). We can play the songs in the music player mode which can be customised like the winamp. Stereo widening function does help to enhance the sound of this set. The ear plugs for listening to music fit nicely into the contours of the ear but I personally like the rubbery ear plugs of Nokia 3200.
But sadly they cannoy fit into this set. There are different sockets for hands free, chargeing point and the data cable. Its irritating that Nokia didnt supply data cable with it. The voice recorder function is a very neat touch as you can record any song, your voice, plus the calls on your phone. If you are radio fan than you will be over joyed by its radio reception quality. It can store upto 20 stations. The preloaded themes in this set also remind us of the shape this set i.e prismatic. Message typing is easy as the keys are easy to use as they are loacated at the right places.
No limited sms storing capacity as it depends on the memory of your set. Shortcut to Yahoo! mail is preinstalled in the set. Data can be transferred using Bluetooth or data cable. No infrared port provided. The voice clarity of this set is super clear and you can talk in a crowded area. The internal memory of this set is 36 MB & its supplied with a 512 MB micro SD card. This much storage is enough for me! Other features include Push-to-talk(PTT), organiser and some interesting preloaded applications(like size converter, sensor etc).
Preloaded games includes City Blox, Music Guess, Snake-3 & the best is Sudoku. Moreover Nokia 7500 Prism comes with a soft pouch which resembles the pouches meant for storing jwellery. Whay I didnt like in 7500:
1) Its not as sturdy as other Nokia cellphones which are known for solidity. Its delicate.Handle it carefully.
2) The battery life is not satisfactory.I have to charge it every day.
3) The battery charger is different from other Nokia chargers with a thin pin for insersion. So better take your own charger when going out of station.
4) The joy stick works well but could be as smooth as a Sony Erricson set.
5) No data cable supplied in the kit.
6) I would love if Nokia provided those rubbery ear knobs of Nokia 3250 as they are extremely comfortable to wear.
What I really liked in 7500:
1) Futuristic shape.
2) Compact size.
3) Feather light weight.
4) Clear sound & voice quality.
5) Nice 2 MP camera with LED flash.
6) FM clarity & reception are superb.
7) 36 MB internal plus 512 MB card.
8) Buttons are soft & easy to use.
9) Screen clarity is one of the best.
10) Screen savers can be set as motion wallpapers.
11) Sudoku game.
12) Its Nokia & value for money.
