Good one go ahead

Well This is my second review on this site. First one was last year perhaps and back then I wrote on Kinetic laser.

I decided to write a review on this particular novel because of two main reasons.

  1. It was a pleasant break (the book) for me from the usual mystery suspense sort of novels.

  2. I really liked the way the auther has went about in the novel building up the reader’s interest as the story moves on.

So wats the book about??

The whole story unfolds in a particular night at a call center in Gurgaon called Conexions. The author tells the story through the view point of one Shyam who works in the call center. Radhika, Esha, Vroom, Military Uncle and Priyanka are the other main protagonists in the novel. Manager Bakshi provides the bad guy angle.

The novel is not just about the life in a call center, but it is also about how the six people move about their lives and their problems. How everything seems fine superficially and deep below is pain. Life seems hopeless for all of them until one phone call changes the way they see life. The phone call is from god. It infuses new life into them and reignites the desire to do something.

The moves on with fair amount of pace and the ocational romantic encounters in between. All through Chetan Bhagat manages to keep the reader interested.

I have nt read his previous book but now I think I should give it a try.
