Pears soap has been around for about a hundred years, and is one of the favourite smells that remind me of my childhood. It is pure, made from glycerine and is a transparent amber colour. My grandmother used this on me when I was really little and I grew up using it. It kept my skin beautifully soft and smooth.
They used to run a Miss Pears competition in England every year, when I was young. Doting mums and grandmas sent in pictures of little girls, and the winner won money, and became the Pear poster child for the year. Sadly this tradition has long since gone, but I remember it was every little girls up to the age of 12s wish to be Miss Pears.
I still love this soap, the smell is very comforting to me as it brings back all the good memories and of my nan and granpop, both of whom are now dead. It is gentle enough to be used on a babys skin, and doesnt dry skin out like some soaps do. The smell is different but is a soft smell, not too overpowering but light, fresh and clean.
There are so many chemicals in many of the cleansing products available now - but Pears is made exactly the same and with the same pure ingredients, as it was about 100 years ago. If you really care about your skin, this ought to be the only soap you ever allow on your face. It is wonderful.
