Hello!


Now I don’t know the english phrase of this. Buy anyways here’s my story with PNB. My grand dad had a account with PNB. Then we shifted to our new accommodation in Sector: 22 ...so I decided to open a new savings account at PNB.


They have upgraded their bank to a hi-fi bank. Good interiors, fully computerized and stuff. When I went to the bank for opening a new account they asked for introduction. I told them that my grand dad is having a account in here for the last 20 years. But they refused. I met the manager and he understood my problem and opened the account.


We don’t get monthly statements in this bank...you get a little passbook which you have to get updated at your own. Anyways every time I went to the bank either the computer were not working or the babu did not knew how to operate them. It always took me an hour or so to get my passbook updated.


Now recently the bank has upgraded everything after RBI’s notification. New computers, new software, ATM facility, Net Banking facility, fully renovated etc. They have done a lot ..the bank even looks like an international bank but the problem is the Babu’s the old mentality still exists. They know how to create more problems for customer or how can they avoid the work but they have not learnt how to resolve the problem.


For eg. If I get in the HDFC bank before lunch time then they will do my work before taking the lunch. They won’t take their lunch until I leave the bank. But in here if you even get in you can’t get your work done. Instead you are told to come back after 1 hour. On the other hand only bank manager understand the problems of the customers. When I requested the bank manager he himself did everything for me. I mean if they can’t change their attitude then renovating the bank and bringing up more facilities will bring more pain to the babu’s. So instead of adding services they should start removing services. They should just keep on opening / closing account. They should stop providing loans as that is a pain in the ass.


Anyways my account still exist in that bank due to the bank manager who understands my problem every time there’s a problem with some babu. Rest is upto you weather you want to open a bank account or not in this bank. But for me I won’t open another account in this bank ever.


The existing account is also not much operational. Its there but I don’t use it much. I have just left the minimum balance required in the account.


Overall Experience: Not Satisfied.


Pros:


Low interest rates.


Low minimum balance required.


New facilities available.


Cons:


Poor Management.


Poor Customer Services.


Broken ATM Machine.


Cheap Net Banking Access.


Stubborn attitude of the Staff.
